Cooking With Grandma Andrews

Cooking and/or baking with Grandma Andrews was always an Andrews family tradition - especially at Christmas. Well since Gram can no longer do it herself, I thought it was time to pass on her recipes to the next Generation of Andrews. So with Grandma's blessing I will turn her many recipe cards into this blog - as an electronic cookbook of sorts. I'll start off with her baking recipes and eventually add the other categories. Gram has hundreds of recipe cards so stay tuned!

Pecan Pie

Ingredients

1 cup white corn syrup

1/3 cup melted butter

1 cup dark brown sugar

1 cup (heaping) pecans

3 eggs

dash vanilla

dash salt

Mix ingredients well
Pour in pie shell
Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake about 40 minutes
Garnish with whipped cream and pecan halves
